PONTEFRACT IN 1941

2Oth June 1941
2,000 bobbins

Over 2.000 bobbin's have been collected by the Pontefract District Girl Guides and Brownies, as a result of an appeal from the Air Ministry. The bobbins are used for work of national importance, and the total is regarded as highly satisfactory. The District Commisioner, Miss V. Simpkin, states that the clothes rationing problem is causing consternation in Guiding circles, and appeals for old uniforms no longer used.
