PONTEFRACT IN 1941

27th June 1941
RATIONED FOOD

A striking example of thought for others is shown in the response given to two annual events on behalf of the Pontefract General Infirmary; ''Pound Day'' and ''Egg Collection”. The many hundreds who have contributed to either or both will be very gratified to hear that 5,000 eggs were received, and goods and cash to the value of nearly £70. The organisers are to be congratulated when the unusual difficulties of the time are considered.
