Tennis Player Missing

Mr. and Mrs W. Nowell, of 7, Spink Lane, Pontefract, received official notice on Friday that their son, Private Harry Noel Nowell, aged 21, of the R.A.S.C. is missing in the Middle East. Before joining the army two years ago he worked at the St Ives Bakery, Newtown, Pontefract. He was a keen tennis player.

Prisoner of War Club

The Vicar of Pontefract, the Reverend A.P Morley, has excepted an invitation to become the Hon. Chaplain to the Pontefract Prisoner of War Club. His interest in the work of the Club is well known and he is arranging for a private service in the Parish Church for relatives of P.O.W’s.
