Private Lawrence Wilson, aged 22, of the East Yorkshire Regiment, whose father, Mr. J.H. Wilson, lives in Denwell Terrace, Pontefract, has had his right arm amputated and is in hospital in a dangerous condition. He was formerly a porter at the County Hotel, Vicar Lane, Leeds.

SEWING PARTY EFFORTS

A sale of work, and a bring and buy sale were held in the Parish Hall, Pontefract, yesterday week by the Parish Church Sewing Party. There was a fair attendance and members of the Sewing Party were in charge of the stalls and refreshments. All proceeds were for the Parish Hall Fund and amounted to over £20
