SECOND TIME WOUNDED
Mrs
Mason, of 2 Cromwell Crescent, Pontefract, has been notified officially
that her husband, Private Sydney Mason, is dangerously ill in hospital
suffering from severe wounds received in Italy. Since that notification,
however, she has received a letter from a Methodist Chaplain at the
hospital saying that her husband is improving.
It is
the second occasion Private Mason has been wounded, the first was in
February. 32 years of age, he is a member of the regular Army with
nearly ten years service. He was in Palestine and Egypt during the
Abyssinian war, and during the present war fought in Norway. He joined
the Central Mediterranean Forces in October.
Another
Pontefract man reported wounded in Normandy is Private E. Walsh, the son
of M. and Mrs John Walsh, of Harewood Avenue, Baghill.
