PRIVATE DIES OF WOUNDS

Mr. and Mrs G. Steel, of Stuart Street, Pontefract, have received notification from the War Office that their third son, Private Cyril Steel, of the Border Regiment, has died of wounds in South East Asia. Private Steel has been in the Army about a year, half of which was spent in India. He was educated at the Northgate Senior Boy’s School, and was employed by Mr. Scholey, a farmer, of Birkin. Another brother, Walter, is also in the Army.
