AWARDED MILITARY MEDAL
The
Military Medal has been awarded to Corporal John Lunny, R.E. for his
work in surveying and building roads near Caen, in the early days of the
invasion of France. His wife and two sons live at Mill Hill Avenue,
Pontefract, where he was in the building trade in civilian life. He is
40, and a native of Pontefract, but was educated at West Hartlepool. He
went to France on D-Day after having been in the Army only a year, and
is now in Holland.
