PONTEFRACT IN 1980
10th January 1980
PUPILS WORKING HOLIDAY
Thirty-two pupils from Carleton High School, Pontefract, spent a week at
Hornsea Centre as part of a field work trip. Study visits were made to
a deserted village site at Argam, an iron age site with monoliths at
Rundstone, and there was also trips to Bridlington, Hull and Beverley.
The staff at the Hornsea Centre provided a Christmas dinner for the
pupils, followed by a party. Before breaking up for Christmas, pupils
from the school's Form 12 held a bring and buy sale in aid of the 'Blue
Peter' Cambodia Appeal Fund.
