PLEASANY SURPRISE
STEAM RAILWAY PHOTOGRAPHS
Oh what a pleasant surprise to see these
familiar black and white steam railway photographs of Peter Cookson's.
These incredible photographs show a time past - when Pontefract was an
important railway junction and industrial hub - alas not so now.
Even as a lad of 12 I can remember cycling down to Baghill railway station to have a
chat or most of the time annoy him with Geoff - the station clerk. Again
a time now gone.
