PONTEFRACT & KNOTTINGLEY DIGEST MAGAZINES STOLEN
ADDED 03 JULY 2006
At
around lunchtime on Monday 3rd July 2006, a sizeable quantity of
Pontefract Digest magazines, issue 17, July 2006, and a small quantity
of Knottingley Digest magazines, issue 35, July 2006, are believed to
have been stolen from the Limetree Avenue / Love Lane area of
Pontefract.
Please
may I remind everyone that the Digest magazines are available only from
selected stores in and around Pontefract and Knottingley or directly
from Maurice Haigh or myself, either through one of my associated
websites or by mail order.
If
you are offered any copies of the July 2006 Pontefract or Knottingley
Digest magazines from any other source whatsoever, please be aware that
they could be stolen copies and I would appreciate any information
regarding the source.
No-one
other than one of my authorised distributors (shops and newsagents in
and around Pontefract and Knottingley), Maurice Haigh or myself has any
authority to sell or distribute copies of the Digest magazines. If you
have any copies of the July 2006 Digest magazines that were not
purchased from one of the above three sources then the chances are you
have a stolen copy.
Today,
unfortunately, these things happen only too often and we simply have to
live with it and accept. All I can ask is that if you are offered what
you believe might be a stolen copy that you decline the offer. Not only
do I have to personally meet the costs involved in the loss itself but
anyone who purchases a stolen copy is also depriving the Digest of an
additional 'legal' sale - in effect increasing the loss twofold.
At
£1.00 per copy the Digest offers wonderful value for money. Is it
really worth it to save a few pence by knowingly purchasing a copy from
an illegal source? The facts are that by doing so you will most likely
be sponsoring or encouraging further illegal activities, drug or other
substance abuse and that just seems to go against everything the Digest
is about.
If
you do have any information concerning the theft of these magazines then
please contact me.
Michael Norfolk
Webmaster and Editor of the Digest magazines.
