Monkhill
Again;
about 2.30pm on a Saturday – this time in February 1957 – but the
vantage point is now alongside the goods yard. A busy scene is depicted
here with the Goole coal train leaving the sidings and a Knottingley-Wakefield
train approaching the station, whilst on the right a
Monkhill-Knottingley transfer goods waits to follow the coal train. The
signal gantry still stands although it now carries only two colour light
signals instead of four semaphores because of the closing of the branch
