From a point near the crossing this is the view looking back to the junction. The top of All Saint’s tower is visible to the right of the signal and the West Junction signal box is in the centre background. By the mid 1950’s it was unusual to see a Midland Class 3F locomotive in use on such a train as this; much more powerful engines of the 8F category were almost invariably used. Peter Cookson.
