Tanshelf was a nice little station and is shown here on a Sunday morning with a diverted Doncaster-Leeds (Central) train passing through behind an ex LNER B1 4-6-0 No 61326. There were the usual two through platforms plus an additional up bay platform (on the right) which was used on race-days. Photo Peter Cookson.
