This is one of the first pictures I took with my new Zeiss Nettar camera in April 1955 – before that I had used a box-camera. The train is the Goole-Wakefield stopper that left just after 1pm and is leaving the station behind an Ivatt Class 2 2-6-2T. The picture gives a general view of the station environs.
