Pontefract Baghill Station

This shows the exterior of the station in 1956. The scene is a quiet one because it was taken on a Sunday in the early afternoon when the station closed briefly for a couple of hours between 1pm and 3pm. Sunday’s were often busy in the morning and evening, especially so in summer, but there were no booked trains between these two times. Peter Cookson
