PONTEFRACT LOCAL HISTORY QUIZ
We are pleased to announce that we now have a small
Pontefract Local History Quiz available to our online visitors. This is only
the beginning of what should become an extensive database of questions
and answers sourced from the many articles published on this website.
As and when time allows, the quiz database will gradually be expanded to
offer an even greater selection of questions to test your knowledge of
the local area and your powers of recollection from the many articles which appear on
this site or which have been published in past issues of the Pontefract
Digest Magazine.
To help you on your way, a number of questions have corresponding
links to the page from where the questions were sourced and the links
will open in a new window so you can search for the correct answers
whilst playing, providing you have sufficient time remaining to do so.
There are currently only 35 questions available on our database but
more will be added over the next few days. This will give you the chance
to begin playing right away and to gradually build up your knowledge in
readiness for additional questions being made available. It may prove a
bit too easy too quickly with such a limited number of questions but it
will get much more difficult over the coming weeks.
In due course we will allow you to enter your e-mail address so that
at the end of the quiz you will receive a report of your attempt, but as
the report also provides the correct answers, and with only a small
number of questions available so far, it seems appropriate to omit that
facility for the time being.
If you would like to help contribute to our database of questions by
supplying some of your own or have any suggestions as to how we can
improve our quiz then do let us know. For now, just give it a try
and let us know what you think. If you also have an interest in the
neighbouring town of Knottingley, we also have a

Local History Quiz available too, which now has in excess of 120
questions available and allows you to enter your e-mail address to see
an example of the kind of report you could receive.
