DON'T MISS THE VOTING DEADLINE
07 MARCH 2006
From the WMDC Press and Communications Office
Seats
in all 21 Wakefield Council wards are up for grabs in the local authority
election on May 4.
But
in order to vote, residents must be on the electoral register - and the
deadline is next week.
Christine
Mason, Wakefield Council's Electoral Services Manager, said: "The
council is responsible for numerous services and makes decisions that affect
the lives of everyone who lives here.
"Your
vote can make a real difference but if you're not registered you will not be
able to vote in the forthcoming local elections."
The
local authority elections will take place on May 4 and the last date that
residents can join the electoral register is March 13.
Anyone
who has changed their address, or their details in any other way, is advised
to complete a new registration form which is available from the Electoral
Services Office on 01924 305023 or e-mail your details to elections@wakefield.gov.uk.
The Electoral Services team is happy to check if residents' details are
correctly recorded on the register.
