ALL ABOARD THE BUS TO SILKWOOD PARK
From the WMDC Press and Communications Office
Arriva
Yorkshire and Wakefield District Council have teamed up to promote Silkwood
Park’s new bus service. The 105,106,107 service began at the end of
January and local bus company Arriva and Wakefield District Council have put
together a leaflet detailing all the latest travel information for people
heading to Silkwood Park.
“Wakefield
Council is keen to promote alternatives to travelling to work by car, and
the availability of a local bus serving this new development is a bonus. We
hope that local firms will see it as an opportunity to promote sustainable
travel. We will be visiting companies on Silkwood Park and distributing the
information about the new service,” said Peter Hemming Travel Awareness
Manager.
Phil
Stone, managing director for Arriva Yorkshire, said: “We are very pleased
to be able to provide the bus service for the business park. We hope that
people will make the most of the service and that they will take the
opportunity to choose public transport and help reduce traffic
congestion.”
Full
timetable information is available on 0870 608 2 608 or via Arriva’s
website. Look out for the new leaflet ‘Silkwood Park – Local bus service
guide’ which will also be available on buses in Wakefield and from the
Travel Centre at the bus station.
