FREE NAPPIES FOR WAKEFIELD MUMS & DADS
From the WMDC Press and Communications Office
If
you thought real nappies were all white terry towelling squares and nappy
pins, think again. Seeing their little darling in the latest designs sets
many parent's hearts aflutter - and this is a growing factor in why more and
more parents are choosing real nappies.
With
Wakefield Council's cash back subsidy parents can claim a total of £40 back
on any style of cloth nappy that you buy. So whether you fancy this season's
soft pastels or the more daring gothic style, there has never been a better
time to give it a try.
Real
Nappy Week 2006 runs between April 24 and 29 and this year it will be
celebrating its 10th Anniversary. Wakefield Council will be running three
nappy events throughout the week at Pontefract, Hemsworth and Wakefield City
centre. On all three days Wakefield residents will be able to pick up
a free starter kit of cloth nappies worth up to £65.
Wakefield
Council and Surestart Hemsworth, Kinsley and Fitzwilliam have teamed up to
run an event on Thursday April 27 at The Cedars Children's Centre on
Barnsley Road, Hemsworth.
Real
nappies will be available to feel, mums can also try out baby massage and
little ones can play with wooden toys. There will be a stand in the
café so visitors can see what the nappies are like, get advice and watch
demonstrations.
The
new exhibition vehicle will be at Pontefract Market on Wednesday April 26
opposite the library and Wakefield's Bullring on Saturday April 29 -
visitors can also sign up for a cheap garden composter.
